When you need an advocate

Some matters need an advocate. If yours does, we will tell you and, if you ask, share the contact details of more than one independent advocate you can approach directly, or you can go to your own advocate.

How an introduction works

  • The advocates are independent. They are not our employees or partners, and we do not rank or recommend one over another.
  • You choose whom to contact, or none of them. You agree the scope and fees with the advocate directly.
  • We take no fee from the advocate, and we charge you no fee for the introduction. No referral payment is made in either direction.
  • We share details of your matter with an advocate only if you separately agree to it.

Matters that usually need an advocate

  • Appearing in a High Court or the Supreme Court, which only enrolled advocates may do
  • Hearings before the National Company Law Tribunal in an insolvency case, if you want an advocate to appear for you
  • Civil disputes such as recovery suits, contract disputes and property or lease disputes
  • Legal opinions and legal notices on matters outside tax and scheme paperwork

This is general information, not legal advice for your matter.

What stays with Subsidy Setu

  • Subsidy and scheme applications, DPRs and project reports
  • IBC paperwork for creditors: demand notices, claim forms and section 9 drafts
  • GST, income-tax and compliance support within our service pages

Optional updates and offers

Is Subsidy Setu a law firm?

No. Subsidy Setu does not give legal advice or appear before courts or tribunals. Under the Advocates Act 1961, advocates are the class of persons entitled to practise law, so a matter that needs one goes to an advocate you choose.

Do you charge for the introduction?

No. We charge you nothing for the introduction and take nothing from the advocate. You agree any fees with the advocate directly.

Do I have to use an advocate you introduce?

No. We share the contact details of more than one independent advocate, and you can choose any of them, your own advocate, or nobody.
